How to make most out of DisneyLand Trip

Disney Land, Magical Land on earth is mostly crowded and waiting for every ride is minimum 30 mins. To know more about the attractions and rides, read my Disney Land California blog post. Below are the most important tips to cover most of the attractions in both the parks.

Buy Tickets to the park Online

I highly advice buying tickets online. With online ticket you can directly go to the entrance of theme park. On any given day, there are a lot of people from across the globe visiting Disney land. One might have to stand in queue for an hour just to buy ticket. If you have 3–day or longer tickets purchased online then you also use the Magic Morning entitlement. Magic Morning allows one to enter the theme park before the park opens for the general public.

There are two kinds of tickets you can purchase.

Prices are bound to change. These were the prices of each ticket when we visited Disney land.

  • Admission to 1 park per day ticket (2-Day ticket)

If you purchase this ticket, then you can visit only one park per day.

When we visited, we paid $225.0 /per ticket for ages 10 and above and $210 for ages 3-9. Free for 0-2 year old’s.

  • Park Hopper ticket

With this ticket, one can hop between the two parks as and when they like. Cost is around $280/ ticket for ages 10 and above and $265.00 for ages 3- 9. Free for 0-2 year-olds.

Use Fast Pass

On a busy day, one has to wait for a minimum of 45 minutes to 1 hour in queue for a ride. Disneyland has come up with Fast pass for some of the rides. You can book a ride beforehand, for a slot that is available and go to the ride at the booked time. This way you can bypass the queue. However, one can hold on to only one fast pass at any given time. Remember the time you have booked for a ride using fast pass. We missed a ride as we forgot about the fast pass that we had booked while we were exploring others.

Download Disney Mobile App

Are you now thinking how to book Fast pass? Answer is download Disney mobile App. You can book fast pass for rides. One can look at the Disney land map to figure out where exactly is which attraction. This app also gives information about the current waiting time for a ride etc. A very handy app when in Disney land. Lot of features to explore.

Security check before entering park

As I said, wherever you go in Disney Land, you are bound to stand in queue for long. Before entering the park, there is a security check kiosk, where the security personnel’s check bags thoroughly. Make sure to open your bag beforehand. This makes their job easier and saves some time for us. They allowed food for toddlers. Water bottle and some snacks were also allowed. I recommend carrying water bottle and snacks as they are pricy in Disneyland.

Travelling with toddler?

It is so much fun to travel with kids. Especially to Disney land. My toddler was ecstatic when he met Goofy, Mickey, Minne, Anna, Elsa. Make sure to carry a stroller. If you don’t have one, then hire a stroller. If your toddler is overjoyed and jumping around, you can at least put your bag. Toilets are few and also far off from one another. So, either make sure to use the Restroom when you spot one or carry a portable Urinal bottle for boys/ Urinal bottle for girls. I highly recommend purchasing Urinal bottle for boys/Urinal bottle for girls as it comes very handy in the below circumstances.

  1. There are a very few rest rooms at Disneyland and is mostly crowded. So Urinal bottle is a boon for parents of active toddler.
  2. If you are toilet training your toddler and you want to travel with your kid off diapers then this is the best solution

Shopping

It is best to shop souvenirs at the last as there is so much to explore in theme park that we might have less time if we shop while we enter the park. Also, it is an overhead to carry souvenirs everywhere inside park.

Parade/Light Show/Fireworks

Check out Disney app for any parade that’s happening on the day of your visit. These are unmissable attractions. Make sure to be at the place of parade/fireworks/light show at least an hour before as it gets extremely crowded and you may not get a good view.

Make the most of your trip using above tips and enjoy your Disney Tour!
