What comes to your mind when you think of Australia? Smallest Continent, Island country or may be Australian Open. To me, “Australia equals Kangaroos”. I was under the impression that I can spot kangaroos in Australia like we spot a cat or dog on streets in any other country. Sadly we don’t see any Kangaroos in city limits. As we go towards the country side, we get to meet a lot of Kangaroos. One such place to greet and meet Kangaroos is Morisset park. How to get to Morisset Park
Morisset Park is at a distance of 121kms from Syndey CBD. This place is located in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area. This Park was closed in December 2018 stating safety concerns. Please visit NSW National Park website to know if the park is open for public.

Do’s and Dont’s at Morisset Park
- Do not feed any Kangaroo. Normally Kangaroos attack people trying to feed them.
- Park is around a Psychiatric Hospital, Respect Patients privacy and maintain silence as much as possible
- Don’t try to play with Kangaroo’s tail while they are resting, they might turn aggressive.
- Always have lunch or snacks in a closed area and do not feed Kangaroos.
